Mr. Greg Edens

Mr. Greg Edens is a Harlan County resident who attended Hall Elementary School. Upon being accepted into the Robinson Scholarship Program and graduating 8th grade, he attended James A. Cawood High School, graduating Valedictorian in 2007. With the Robinson Scholarship in hand, he attended the University of Kentucky, beginning his pursuit for completion of their Secondary Mathematics Education curriculum. He graduated with honors, obtaining his Bachelors Degree in Secondary Mathematics Education. The University of Kentucky was set up so that he could immediately enter into a fast paced MIC Program and receive his Masters in Secondary Mathematics Education, along with his teaching certification in 8-12 Mathematics. Along the line somewhere, he extended his certification to include grades 5-7 Mathematics. Years later, he completed the Principalship Program through the University of the Cumberlands, earning his Educational Specialist Degree in School Leadership and obtained Principal Certification.

 

He has taught mathematics for 7 years now, 2 in high school, 5 in middle school. Among the courses he has taught are 6th Grade Mathematics, 7th Grade Mathematics, 8th Grade Mathematics, Algebra I, Geometry, Senior Transition Mathematics, and College Mathematics Remediation in conjunction with Morehead State University.
